Kinoma Play Installing Kinoma Play is delivered as a standard Windows Mobile installer (.cab) file. To install, open the file on your phone and follow the instructions. If you’re asked to choose an install location, we recommend that you choose Device instead of Storage Card. To uninstall, use Remove Programs in your phone’s Settings. Activation Before you can use Kinoma Play, you must activate it by entering a purchase key. Activation should be performed “over the air,” which means you need to have a data connection available the first time you use Kinoma Play. Each purchase key can be used for only one phone. Network access Kinoma Play is a media browser with a strong emphasis on internet media. To avoid unexpected charges, you need to either have an unlimited data plan or be connected via Wi‐Fi (if your phone supports it). Launching Launch Kinoma Play using your phone’s Start menu, just as for other Windows Mobile applications. Getting around Kinoma Play uses your phone’s soft keys as follows: • The left soft key is Back, and it acts like the Back button in a web browser (as does your phone’s dedicated Back key, if it has one). • The right soft key is Menu, and it shows or hides the menu pod (see the next section). If you’re playing audio or video, the Main screen will display the title of the Now Playing item for the left soft key, and pressing that key will jump directly to it. 2 You’ll also use the keys on your 5‐way control pad: Menu pod Kinoma Play’s menu pod provides fast access to many powerful capabilities. Think of it as a carousel of menus that are always optimized for what you’re doing. Press Menu to show the menu pod. Use Left and Right to move between menus. These are the menus you’ll see in the menu pod when you’re at the Main screen in Kinoma Play: The menu pod always includes Media and Settings menus. Additional menus are often available to provide functionality specific to the current screen; for example, the Player menu is available only when you’re at the Main screen. 3 Main screen The Main screen is your starting point for Kinoma Play. It lists the choices you have at that point. (Choices in Kinoma Play are often listed like this; in some cases, such as for pictures, they’re instead shown in a grid.)
